The most amazing region in the Eastern Europe (Track This Article)

Ukraine is situated in Central Europe and it is a unitary state. It consists of twenty four provinces, Crimea – an autonomous republic and 2 urban districts that are treated separately: Kiev which is the metropolis and Sevastopol. Ukraine has a semi-presidential republic. It has lived after an orange revolution in December 2004. The current type of power is more democratic that the previous one. Now the country is ruled not by a single man, but by several branches of power. Ukraine borders on Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Moldova and Hungary form the west, Turkey form the south; the Russian boundary is the longest one it is from North and East. There are Crimea and Carpathian mountains in Ukraine, Carpathian are significantly higher then Crimea mountains. Through the territory of Ukraine flows Dnieper, that is considered to be one of the longest rivers in Europe. That river brings the huge amount of hydroelectric power for Ukraine. Ukraine has a quite mild climate, so the winters are not so cold here but some rivers and lakes are commonly covered by ice. The mild climate in summer includes a great amount of rainy days, but there are many shiny days too.

Owing to favorable terms, Ukraine is known for its quality soils and significantly developed agriculture. The perfectly developed agricultural sphere permits Ukraine to export their production to many countries. It exports sugar, corn, vegetables, etc. Kiev is one of the oldest cities in Europe. It was founded approximately in the 5th century and has long and amazing history. It was the little town which became the center of Slavic civilization in the Eastern Europe. The decrease of development of Kiev was caused by the Mongolian invasion in the 13th century, the city was completely destroyed for a quite long period. However, industrial revolution assisted the city regain conspicuousness. In period of the Soviet Union Kiev became the capital of Ukrainian Soviet Republic. In 2001 here lived 2,611,300 people in Kiev (census data). Females constituted 53 percents and men 47 percents. Looking from the point of view of nationalities, the metropolis of Ukraine is very different. There are over 130 ethnic groups living in Kiev. In the second part of 20th century its population increased considerably as a result of development of real estate building in that city. After the sovereignty there created modern condominiums, expensive restaurants and luxury hotels.

Ukraine economics gains power after the period of post Soviet troubles. Today Ukraine is very respectable country that is known not as a region of the Soviet Union, but as autonomous country. Professional economical forecasters say that Ukraine will become a member of WTO in a very short time.
